Innovation portfolioThe aim of portfolio management is to create transparency of the character of current and future projects. The focus here is to distinguish the projects between qualitative and financial criteria.
Many innovation portfolio managements were established or overworked by PSG. For this purpose we create scoring lists with regard to industrial sectors, business scheme and strategy in the workshops. Different criteria should be considered to different moments for the evaluation of the projects. This depends on the innovation process. Projects in late phases include detailed Cash Flow calculations and the evaluation of an idea is made in round terms. Then the analysis will be made for example in classical 2x2 matrix diagrams, depending on the selected dimensions and the number of characteristics.

Result of the portfolio analysis should be the decision whether to stop, put back or continue the projects and with which intensity. This ensures the use of corporate resources only for promising and strategically wise projects.
